The "Bean" at Millennium Park and other great Chicago attractions

This huge, shiny bean is an iconic symbol of Chicago, located in the Millennium Park just off the Loop in downtown Chicago.  The first picture is what you see as you enter the park.  The second picture is a picture of the reflection of us standing within a few feet of the sculpture.

This third picture is taken from the inside of the bean looking upward.  A cool sculpture in all respects.

We toured the rest of Millennium Park to view sailboats on Lake Michigan.  Then on to the Art Institute of Chicago where we over-loaded on exquisite examples of fine art, including American Gothis and Liz #3 by Andy Warhol:

There were also some galleries which should be titled "But is it Art?"  The questionable pieces included a green painted canvas; a canvas painted in equal thirds of light green, medium green and orange; and a linen white canvas empty of anything but with a painted frame and 1/2 inch matt.  Also, the following painting was done by a Japanese artist who depicted the passage of time in a series called "Today" by painting the date each and every day from 1966 to 2014 when he died.  This is one of his masterpieces. Did he waste his time?  Did the art gallery waste wall paint and our time to see it?  I love art, but I don't get all of it!

    1. Actually, Pop takes pictures of portraits to pair with friend's phone numbers so he sees who is calling. I will attach your new ring pic to the post

  2. We did the same tour a few years ago highlighted by seeing Jim Debiec's daughter perform with The Chicago Orchestra at the concert hall at Millieniem Park.
